How I Approach Care
I approach psychiatric care with steadiness, curiosity, and respect for the complexity of each person’s experience. My work is guided by the belief that meaningful care happens when people feel heard, supported, and not rushed into answers.
I am especially attentive to individuals who have felt misunderstood, overlooked, or reduced to a diagnosis. I value careful listening, collaborative decision-making, and treatment that evolves thoughtfully over time rather than following a one size fits all approach.

Clinical Experience
Over the past decade, I have practiced across a wide range of mental health care settings, including inpatient psychiatry, outpatient clinics, crisis and urgent care services, and integrative environments. My experience includes working with individuals living with serious mental illness, providing care on pediatric inpatient units, supporting patients in involuntary and court-ordered treatment settings, and serving in leadership roles within large psychiatric hospital systems across Arizona.
These experiences have shaped a clinical approach that values consistency, nuance, and compassion, and that recognizes the complexity inherent in mental health care.
Training & Approach

As a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide psychiatric evaluations and medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing and my Master of Science in Nursing from Eastern Kentucky University.
My clinical style is thoughtful and conservative, grounded in evidence based practice and guided by the understanding that medication is one component of comprehensive psychiatric care. I prioritize transparency, collaboration, and careful listening, and I work alongside individuals to develop treatment plans that are individualized, measured, and responsive to change.

Equine Assisted Work

I am also certified in equine-assisted therapy through the Icarus Model, an evidence based modality that integrates nervous system regulation, attachment, and experiential processing. Equine-assisted work is offered selectively and thoughtfully, following a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and based on clinical appropriateness, readiness, and availability.
For some individuals, this approach offers an experiential pathway to engagement and healing that does not rely solely on verbal processing.

An Integrated Perspective

When appropriate, I integrate principles from functional psychiatry to support a more comprehensive understanding of mental health. This includes considering factors such as sleep and circadian rhythm, metabolic and hormonal influences, inflammation, nutritional status, trauma exposure, and autonomic nervous system regulation, particularly when symptoms are only partially responsive to medication alone.
This approach is evidence informed and integrated within standard psychiatric care, allowing treatment planning to be both clinically grounded and individualized.

ANM Health LLC and now Wild Ember were built from the intersection of personal experience, clinical training, and years of working within the mental health system. This practice was created with intention, shaped by a commitment to care that is thoughtful, unhurried, and grounded in genuine respect for the individual.
Wild Ember exists for those who have felt misunderstood, misdiagnosed, dismissed, or expected to manage quietly without adequate support. It was designed to be the kind of clinical environment I always hoped to find: one that values time, listens carefully, and treats people as more than a diagnosis or a checklist.
To me, effective psychiatric care is not rooted in letters behind your name or labels, but in trust. It requires creating space for honesty, approaching each person with curiosity, and holding their experiences with clinical integrity and respect.
At Wild Ember, there is no expectation to present in any particular way. Whether our paths look similar or entirely different, you will be met with consistency, compassion, and care. This is a space where your story is taken seriously, where vulnerability is met with professionalism rather than judgment, and where healing is approached with intention and humanity.
